TUFF LOVE!
The Beacon, Rendlesham
Check out some of the amazing tuff tray creations our practitioners put together for the children to explore.
We used the trays to help the children broaden their ideas of what they can do and what happens next – talk specifically about the four seasons of the year.
The children also expressed how excited they are that Halloween is approaching. Spoooooky!
PUDSEY’S PALS!
The Cornerstone, Martlesham
Our amazing team are raising money for Children In Need by training and running 5K around Martlesham and Kesgrave on Saturday 19 November. We’d love to raise as much money as possible for such an awesome charity and have placed sponsor forms on the windows and doors of both the main building and Pre School. As non-runners, any tips would be appreciated. Thank you, Team Cornerstone!
WELL GOOD VIBES!
We all have such an important role to play in developing and supporting children’s emotional wellbeing.
Although this is embedded in our practise and provision every day, in light of Mental Health Awareness Week the pre-schoolers enjoyed a ‘well-being day’.
We we enjoyed one-to-one stories with each of the children, where it gave us the opportunity to discuss emotions, how to deal with them and that it is always okay to feel however you feel.
We stretched and moved in a variety of ways with some yoga and calming music.
The children enjoyed some massages and also loved the calm meal times to the sound of rain and calming music.
MESSY MARVELS!
Head Start, Ramsey
At Head Start, it was all about messy play – especially exploring gloop.
Gloop is an interesting mixture with a unique texture. It’s easy to make with cornflour, water and some food colouring. The children were fascinated by the texture.
Messy play has no end goal. The point of it is to let children explore the materials in front of them in whichever way they wish.
Messy play fosters creativity and imagination, encourages language and communication skills, develops concentration techniques and promotes physical development.
WHAT’S ON? LOADS!
Bluebell, Eltisley
If you’re a Huntingdonshire family, there are loads of cool things for you and the kids to get involved with thanks to the Child and Family Centre’s What’s On programme.
