Nurseries News Round-Up – Week 51

Your weekly round-up of news from around our wonderful Golden Apples Family nurseries is here!

A DAY FIT FOR A KING!

The Beacon, Rendlesham

The children at The Beacon had a wonderful time celebrating the King’s coronation.

They made their own crowns and Union Jacks, got stuck into various celebratory tuff trays and had their faces painted.

This was topped off with a special coronation lunch fit for all our little kings and queens.

PENGUIN PLAY!

It was International Penguin Day recently so the toddlers enjoyed delving into our sensory tuff tray and trying to rescue the penguins from the icebergs.

They explored words such as hot, cold, soft and slimy. The toddlers also attempted to build igloos with the ice cubes by stacking them on top of each other, with lots of laughter when they’d topple over into the snow!

SEALIFE SAVERS!

For Earth Day in April, the Toddlers looked at how plastic cans end up in our oceans. They enjoyed protecting the sea life in our own water by choosing what belongs in the ocean and what doesn’t – such as plastic!

They also discussed the importance of trees in our habitat and which animals might rely on them for homes – such as squirrels, birds and monkeys. They then had fun planting their own trees in our tuff tray.

CORONATION TREAT!

The Appletree, Attleborough

Huge thanks to all of our lovely families that came to our coronation party. We had a fantastic turnout with lots of lovely activities including a scavenger hunt, regal play-dough and super royal craft activities.

We had a wonderful picnic feast – huge thanks to our dedicated team who helped the children make some fantastic creations and came together to create a fabulous buffet.

AFTERNOON TEA-RRIFIC!

The Cornerstone, Martlesham

This whole nursery joined together in the garden for a fantastic coronation afternoon tea party.

Well done Amanda for a super spread of delicious sandwiches, quiche and scones with jam and cream.

FARMYARD FRIENDS!

The Anchor, Huntingdon

Aurora Room focused on reading books about farms. They especially loved learning the word ‘tractor’.

The children did so well when mimicking the noises of farm animals and pointing out the different animals they could find.

ROYAL BEAUTIES!

Head Start, Ramsey

What a wonderful week we had leading up to the King’s coronation event.

We talked about our new king getting his special crown with lots of jewels on.

The children made their own sparkling crowns to take home.

We read lots of stories about going to London on big red buses to see Buckingham Palace.

The children role-played with castles, kings and queens, horses and all the King’s soldiers.
