Our awesome pirates are ready for a week full of treasure hunting, sailing and digging for treasure.

The Babies got creative with paint and Duplo bricks.
They chose their own colours, stamping the bricks into the paints and then onto their paper, creating a variety of patterns.

Play-dough is a super simple recipe that you can make together at home – it’s completely non-toxic, safe for all ages and cheap!
See below for the recipe we like to use in the nursery. There are lots to try – including a microwave & no-cook variation (Google have lots of recipes).
In the nursery, we like to dance about a bit with a session of dough disco, too. Disco Dough helps to strengthen children's fine motor muscles to enable them to develop their pencil grip, which in turn will help to develop their writing skills. But most of all, it's fun!

ALL ABOUT FUN!
Head Start, Ramsey
The children have settled well into nursery and have enjoyed lots of different activities – such as creating self-portraits – as the topic for this term is ‘All about me’.
We had lots of fun exploring what we look like in the mirror and the differences between us all.
We discussed the colour of our hair, or whether we had curly or straight hair. We also talked about the colour of our eyes, where our nose, mouth, ears, hands are, etc.
We also talked a little about Autumn with apple printing and blackberry-coloured play-dough.
RICE ONE!
Halesworth Day Nursery, Halesworth
The Sloth Room had lots of fun this morning exploring different textures. They took a keen interest in the rice and were using scoops and bowls to transport the rice.
Some of the children even had a go at sitting in the tray so they could feel the rice better!
POTION PALS!
Here’s a fun ‘before and after’ of the Meerkats’ potion-making activity – they thoroughly enjoyed mixing all the different ingredients together to see what they could make!
